SAFETY, Guidance Lighting by HIL-TECH LTD.
The World's Toughest Safety, Guidance Lighting! LEDline® safety lighting Systems Are Used In a multitude of extreme environments and Areas.
LEDline® Safety Guidance Lighting Systems from HIL-TECH Are Used In A Variety Of Extreme Environments And Areas.
HIL-Tech is the inventor and manufacturer of LEDline®, the world's toughest light source. Underwater; in the pavement; at the airport; on helipads; in the navy; or in highways, enterprises that need lighting that can withstand heavy-duty use in extreme environments, are our clients.
LEDline® style lighting can come in many shapes and all can be equally tough. For linear LEDline®, due to the linear nature of the safety guidance lighting, it provides both positional and directional guidance, which, compared to point source lamps, unless a large number of point sources can be seen at the same time, which is not usually achievable in very bad weather, a single point source, merely gives one positional guidance.
Please get in touch with HIL-Tech if you have visual aid needs for improved safety and guidance on; roads, airfields, helipads, marine, or military applications, or if you require LEDline® technical information.

HIL-Tech's Latest IP69K Quick lamp Disconnect Connector
Below is the latest, nickel-plated brass or stainless steel, submersible, screw together IP69K quick lamp disconnect connector. This is a completely sealed disconnect, (submersible) which allows for the replacement of the surface LED LEDline® lamp from its glued in Mounting Plate and buried (non-contact), induction, power pickup connector.
(Note: LEDline® should last a long time as each LED within a LEDline® lamp is independently powered, so if one breaks prematurely, the rest continue to function normally.
In addition, as an indication of their resilience, all in-pavement, and other LEDline® applications come with a standard
1-year LIMITED WARRANTY. This 1-year LIMITED WARRANTY can BE UPGRADED to having an additional 4-years LIMITED WARRANTY, which in total, is a 5 years LIMITED WARRANTY.
(See HIL-Tech for all conditions).
(Note: IP69K = Ingress protection (IP) rated connectors and the number (69) = This is the top IP rated electrical connector system available on the market. This (IP) rating, is an internationally recognized scale that relates to proven protection against environmental factors such as, liquids and solids).

Below is the LEDline® Guidance Safety System, with its in-pavement Mounting Plate and showing the female end of the IP69K connector, which is always attached to the buried-in glue, induction power pickup connector.
Also shown is the male end of the screw-together IP69K quick lamp disconnect, this is always attached to
and embedded in the solid LEDline® lamp.
As the above picture demonstrates, the LEDline® guidance safety lamp fits inside the in-pavement Mounting Plate and the IP69K connectors are then screwed together before being installed into the pavement.
For long life in-pavement applications; LEDline® guidance safety lighting units must be induction powered and have non-contact Induction Power Pickups.
For long life surface mounted applications; LEDline® safety guidance lighting is surface mounted anywhere and can be VDC or induction powered.

Below is a completely sealed LEDline® Induction Power Pickup Connector Unit, which has been threaded onto standard Direct Burial Wire, this non-contact (non-hardwiring) induction power connector, which brings power to the LEDline® unit.
(Notice: The completely sealed (non-contact) Induction Power Pickup Connectors, as below, are NOT connected to the buried induction power lines in any way. And, because these induction connectors are non-contact, no hard wiring connections, their power lines are NEVER cut, spliced, or in any way compromised. This allows the Direct Burial Wire to keep all of its manufacturer's pristine cladding and protection intact, so there shouldn't be any corrosion issues over the years).
LEDline® safety guidance Visual Aids Can Be Powered By the following sources:
• Mains, 90VAC – 220VAC
• HIL-Tech’s VDC Power Supply
• Airfield Series Circuit
• Or Renewable Energy Sources Such as Solar or Wind Power with Batteries
HIL-Tech Built power Supplies; induction powered, Master Controllers; and VDC Power Supplies.
Master Controllers and their induction Power Modules are recommended for all in-pavement applications to ensure that the non-contact induction power to the LEDline® is produced, thus making the surrounding environmental factors, like water or chemicals like glycol, essentially irrelevant.
Master Controllers come in different sizes and can have from 1 - 6 independent Power Modules. Each is independently controlled to power up from 1 - 6, fully independent induction power circuits of some 700m (approx. 2297 ft.) in length. Each of these 700m (approx. 2297ft.) induction power circuits can light up some 25 x LEDline® units, each with 12 x powerful, sunlight-visible, LEDs.
(Note: If there are only 6 x LEDs within the LEDline® lamps, (half the usual number), then the 700m (2297ft.) induction circuit can power up many more LEDline® lamps).

For barrier or surface mounted installations of LEDline®'s safety guidance lighting, LEDline®'s VDC Power Supply and power equalizers are recommended.
With HIL-Tech's VDC power supply, as above, and HIL-Tech's Power Equalizers, VDC line voltage drops are eliminated and the last light on the VDC circuit is as bright as the first.

- Guidance LEDline® can withstand a 10 Ton (20,000lbs.) roller, even when the LEDline® is placed on top of the pavement. (Few, if any other light sources can achieve this)!!
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® safety lighting is; long-lived; weather and chemically resistant; and is not affected by road or airfield salt, hydrocarbons, glycol, or other airport de-icing pad chemicals.
- -------------------------------------------
- Being linear, LEDline® safety guidance lighting provides for both positional and directional guidance. Unless one can see many point sources at the same time, which, in bad weather, is not always possible, each point source guidance only provides for positional guidance.
- ----------------------------------------------
- In all weathers, LEDline®’s safety guidance visibility is comparable to standard ICAO / FAA airfield taxiway lights. And, at Anchorage International, in bad weather, its linear directional qualities were preferred by the pilots. (See the enclosed pilot evaluation letters).
- -------------------------------------------
- As with the old incandescent/halogen FAA / ICAO airfield in-pavement lights; LEDline® guidance safety lighting melts snow and ice without needing any additional heating elements. It is the only LED light source that can do this. Therefore, LEDline® is MORE energy efficient than any other airfield visual aid lights, including the LED-based ones!
- The FHWA successfully tested earlier LEDline® safety guidance lighting to 88,000 lbs. direct loading without any damage. In another test, using the lamp section alone, when suspended between two supports and subjected to 1050 lbs. direct loading in its middle, LEDline® was bent some 75mm (3”) out of true. Despite this, the solid LEDline® matrix did not crack and the lamp continued to function normally. (See pictures below).
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® guidance lighting was installed as airfield guidance at Vancouver International’s de-icing pads in Fall 2009. Since then and to this day, it has never been turned off! Therefore, LEDline® has worked successfully and continuously for some + 12 years and counting.
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® guidance lighting is submersible. TESTED FOR LIGHTING THE ESCAPE CHAMBERS OF SUBMARINES, earlier versions were successfully tested by the Canadian Navy down to SEAWATER DEPTHS OF 300m (approx. 1000ft.).
- -------------------------------------------
- So successful were these pressure tests, that the LEDline® continued to be used for lighting within the test pressure chamber. To date, it has now done thousands and thousands of pressure tests to seawater depths of 300m (1000ft.).
- -------------------------------------------
- Compared to other in-pavement guidance lamps, linear LEDline® guidance safety lighting is far more versatile as it can easily create LIT in-pavement numbers and signs.
- -------------------------------------------
- MOST IMPORTANTLY; compared to other airport visual aids, especially LED ones, LEDline® continues to be far, far less costly to purchase and install, approx. 60% less!
